Who in the world enjoys getting up in the middle of the movie? Certainly I don't. And if you do not so, all you have to do to stay nailed to your sofa is to download this software for free to your Android device, a useful app that turns your mobile device into a remote control for your PC.
This software 2.0 is a remote control utility for your computer that lets you use your Android device as a wireless keyboard and a touchpad to remotely control your PC, Mac or Linux computer from your smartphone or tablet. The app is quite versatile, but its design and main features are specially focused in remotely control the music playback and movies reproduction on your favorite media player.
So this program turns definitively useful anytime you're settled at home watching a movie, or when you're on a party Djing some music from your computer or laptop. With this program you'll be able to rewind and forward, change tracks, modify the volume and some other usual functions in music and video playback, without having to get up of the couch nor stop dancing at the party. This remote control app also includes a little file browser to ease the selection of music and video files you want to play below.
Setting up this application is quite simple, but it requires to download the app both to your mobile device and to the computer you'd want to control. You can find the Gmote's desktop software version for PC, Mac and Linux at the author's website. Then you just have to indicate the server password and type it at the mobile app, which acts as the Gmote client.

The best remote control app I've tested

I downloaded too many remote control apps these days because I was really interested in what they can offer, and now I can say Gmote's the one that has my better approval, since it's the one that better works, I didn't find any bug on it, and it really does what it promises. Works perfectly for handling the music and video playback from the distance. Undoubtedly, a 5 stars app

It's the best I've had in this kind of apps, but still could improve a bit, especially with more automatic actions from the mouse pad and the ability to use key combinations on the wireless keyboard
