Roadnav is a very interesting car navigation system. It is unfortunate that currently only has information about United States territory, so it is not very useful for those who do not live there; but is now being developed to able to apply in other continents .

This application can get the position of a user from a GPS unit, draw a map of the area where he is located providing addresses (locations in the United States). It also creates street level maps , featuring the verbalized drive step by step reformulating the way if any of the indications is lost. With Roadnav is possible to follow an itinerary on 3D view mode , that simulates the driver's perspective. Is possible to set proximity tags or points of interests and change the look with different skins. Moreover, the program includes a combination of colors for day and night, which automatically changes according to the position of the Sun.

Furthermore, it can also be used offline, without an Internet connection, and is free and open source. According have we learned, this is a comprehensive and handy utility for car navigation, but currently, it is only useful for those who are in North America.
